WHAT GLOVES TO WEAR

When choosing what kind of protective glove to purchase it can be difficult deciding between latex and nitrile gloves...which one is the right one for you and the job at hand?
Nitrile Gloves
Nitrile gloves are an increasingly popular choice over latex gloves as they are made out of a synthetic rubber which does not irritate the skin and are the perfect solution for people prone to latex allergies.
Nitrile protective gloves are also the superior option when it comes to strength and puncture resistance. If they do puncture, Nitrile gloves actually split unlike latex gloves. This gives the wearer rapid awareness of potential biohazard or chemical contamination.
For these reasons they are often used in hospitals and medical applications and are often referred to as “medical grade gloves”.
Nitrile gloves are also highly resistant to many chemicals offering better protection than latex gloves and making them the perfect fit for workshop applications.
They offer a very high level of sensitivity, not quite as much as latex, but certainly ample for anything but the most sensitive of jobs.
Being a synthetic material, Nitrile has a longer shelf life than natural rubber.
Latex Gloves
Latex gloves are made out of natural materials from the latex ducts of rubber trees, and are still a popular choice in medical, industrial and workshop use when allergy is not a concern. But latex allergies can easily develop if the gloves are not properly washed and processed.
With great elasticity, latex gloves mould & fit very closely to the hand and are therefore best for sensitivity.
And of course being made from natural materials, latex gloves are the most biodegradable gloves available on the market.
